The only non-invasive treatment that rebuilds facial muscle and connective tissue — the Foundation layer of the Trinity Method, and the root cause of sagging, jowling, and facial volume loss. Available at Trinity Aesthetic Studio in Brea, CA — serving all of Orange County.
Facial aging is not just a skin problem — it is a structural one. As facial muscles weaken with age, the skin and fat pads they support begin to descend, creating the sagging, loss of definition, and changed contours that no skincare product can reverse. EMFACE addresses this root cause directly — using synchronized radiofrequency and high-intensity facial electrical stimulation to rebuild facial muscle tone, stimulate collagen and elastin production, and reposition fat pads to a more youthful location. At Trinity, EMFACE is the Foundation layer of the Trinity Method — the starting point of an inside-out approach that addresses root causes at every layer. Foundation first. Structure second. Surface last.
At Trinity Aesthetic Studio in Brea, CA, EMFACE treatment planning begins with a consultation with Dr. Gail Krishnan, whose advanced training in facial anatomy and proportion gives her a uniquely qualified perspective on how the face ages as an integrated system. Rather than treating isolated concerns, Dr. Krishnan designs EMFACE plans that address the underlying structural causes of facial change – selecting from four specialized applicators to create a personalized plan that restores balance, proportion, and natural lift across the whole face.
EMFACE is the only non-invasive treatment that simultaneously targets both facial skin and facial muscles – the two foundational layers that define facial structure and appearance. Using synchronized radiofrequency heating and HIFES™ (High-Intensity Facial Electrical Stimulation), EMFACE rebuilds the face from within, restoring the structural support that age gradually erodes. The result is a naturally lifted, firmer, more defined face – without surgery, needles, fillers, or downtime.
EMFACE offers four specialized applicators, each targeting a specific area of the face, which can be used individually or in combination depending on your concerns and goals:
EMFACE addresses the Foundation layer of the Trinity Method — the muscle and connective tissue whose breakdown is the primary driver of facial aging.
Facial aging is fundamentally a structural problem. The elevator muscles of the face – responsible for lifting the cheeks, brows, eyes, and jawline – atrophy at a rate of approximately 1–2% per year after age 30, resulting in up to 30% loss of muscle strength and volume by age 60. As these muscles weaken, the skin and fat pads they support descend, creating the sagging, hollowing, and loss of definition that characterize an aging face.
EMFACE’s HIFES™ technology addresses this directly by delivering thousands of supramaximal contractions to facial elevator muscles – contractions far beyond what voluntary muscle movement can achieve. Clinical studies demonstrate up to a 30% increase in muscle density following a standard EMFACE protocol. Simultaneously, synchronized radiofrequency energy gently heats the dermis to stimulate collagen and elastin production, improving skin firmness, elasticity, and texture. The combination of muscle rebuilding and dermal remodeling restores the face’s foundational framework – addressing the root cause of facial aging rather than masking its surface effects.
A third mechanism — often overlooked but clinically significant — is fat pad repositioning. The face contains multiple fat compartments that provide volume and contour in youth. As the elevator muscles that support these fat pads weaken with age, the fat pads descend from their youthful position, creating hollowing above and bulging below — most visibly in the under-eye area, where the orbital fat pad migrates forward to create the appearance of bags. By rebuilding the elevator muscles that support these fat pads, EMFACE mechanically repositions them toward their more youthful location — reducing under-eye bags, restoring mid-face volume, and improving overall facial contour through the body’s own structural restoration rather than external augmentation.
By rebuilding facial muscle tone and stimulating collagen and elastin production simultaneously, EMFACE addresses a wide range of facial aging concerns throughout Orange County – naturally and without downtime:
EMFACE is suitable for a wide range of patients throughout Orange County who are experiencing facial aging, loss of lift, or early signs of structural change — and is equally effective as a preventative treatment for younger patients who want to stay ahead of age-related muscle loss. A complimentary consultation at our Brea, CA studio will determine whether EMFACE is right for you and which applicators best address your specific concerns.
EMFACE is not appropriate for those with electronic implants such as pacemakers or defibrillators, metal plates or implants in the face or neck, active infections or skin disorders such as eczema or rosacea in the treatment area, active acne, recent fillers or facial surgeries, or those who are pregnant.
At Trinity, every EMFACE journey begins with a complimentary consultation with Dr. Krishnan or Dr. Oliak. Using Alma IQ skin analysis technology alongside a thorough evaluation of your facial structure, concerns, and goals, we design a personalized EMFACE plan – selecting the applicators and treatment areas that will deliver the most meaningful, balanced results for your face as a whole. EMFACE may be the centerpiece of your plan, one component of a broader multimodal approach, or we may recommend a different treatment entirely. That honest, individualized approach is central to everything we do at Trinity.
If EMFACE is right for you, here is what to expect:

EMFACE is available at many practices — but its results depend significantly on who designs your plan. At Trinity, EMFACE is the Foundation layer of the Trinity Method — the starting point of an inside-out approach that addresses root causes at every layer. Foundation first. Structure second. Surface last.
Treatment planning is guided by Dr. Krishnan, whose advanced training in full mouth rehabilitation and restorative dentistry gives her a whole-face structural perspective that is genuinely rare in aesthetic medicine. She treats the face as an integrated system — selecting applicators and treatment areas that restore natural balance and harmony across the whole face, not isolated concerns.
Dr. Oliak’s surgical background adds anatomical precision and clinical depth to every treatment decision. Together, their complementary expertise means every EMFACE plan at Trinity is designed with a level of care that goes well beyond what most Orange County practices can offer.
EMFACE pairs most powerfully with Exion Face — which addresses the Structure layer through deep collagen and hyaluronic acid stimulation — and CO2 laser for Surface refinement. With 8 lasers, 6 radiofrequency devices, and 3 muscle-stimulation devices, your plan is always built around what you need, never around what we happen to offer.
Begin with a complimentary consultation at Trinity Aesthetic Studio in Brea, CA — and let us design a plan that addresses your concerns from the inside out.
A standard EMFACE protocol consists of 4 sessions spaced one week apart. This series is designed to progressively rebuild muscle tone and stimulate collagen production for optimal results. Maintenance sessions every 6–12 months are recommended to sustain your results over time.
Many patients notice subtle improvements immediately after their first session. Results continue to develop over 3–4 months following the completion of your series as muscle tone is restored and collagen production matures. The full benefit of EMFACE is typically visible 3–4 months after your final session.
EMFACE is comfortable throughout. Most patients describe a warm sensation from the radiofrequency energy and a rhythmic muscle contraction from the HIFES™ stimulation — often compared to a facial workout combined with a warm massage. There is no pain, no needles, and no recovery time required.
This depends entirely on your specific concerns and goals. Trinity offers all four EMFACE applicators — Cheek, Forehead, Eye, and Submentum — and your treatment plan will be designed by our physician team based on a thorough evaluation of your facial structure and aesthetic goals. You may use one, two, three, or all four applicators depending on what will deliver the most meaningful, balanced results for your face.
EMFACE results are long-lasting but gradually fade as natural aging continues. Most patients find that results remain strong for 6–12 months following their series, after which a maintenance session is recommended. Combining EMFACE with complementary treatments and a regenerative skincare program can extend and enhance your results.
Botox and fillers have their place — but they work from the outside in, masking the structural changes that are causing the problem rather than addressing them. Botox temporarily freezes muscles — but over time, muscle paralysis accelerates the very atrophy that is causing the face to descend. Fillers add volume from outside — but the underlying structure continues to break down beneath them. EMFACE works from the inside out — rebuilding actual muscle density and stimulating real collagen. The results look natural because they are built by your own biology. At Trinity, fillers and neurotoxin are the last step if needed — not the first.
Yes — and combination therapy is where EMFACE produces its most powerful results. EMFACE addresses the Foundation layer of the Trinity Method — muscle and connective tissue. Exion Face addresses the Structure layer — collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid deep in the dermis. CO2 laser addresses the Surface — texture, tone, and pigmentation. Used together in the right sequence, these three treatments address every layer of facial aging comprehensively. Foundation first. Structure second. Surface last. Your Trinity provider will recommend the optimal combination for your specific concerns at your complimentary consultation.
Pricing varies depending on the number of applicators selected and the treatment plan designed at your consultation. The difference is in the planning. EMFACE results depend significantly on which applicators are selected and how the treatment is designed — and at Trinity, that planning is guided by our physician team — whose combined expertise in facial anatomy, surgical precision, and whole-face structural understanding brings a whole-face perspective to EMFACE planning that most Orange County providers simply cannot match. Combined with Trinity’s broad technology suite and commitment to personalized, root-cause treatment planning, you receive a standard of care that goes well beyond the treatment itself. At Trinity, EMFACE is the Foundation layer of the Trinity Method — the starting point of an inside-out approach that addresses root causes at every layer. Foundation first. Structure second. Surface last.

Dr. Oliak has spent his career drawn to fields of medicine that are genuinely transformational for patients — the kind of transformation that changes not just health, but how people feel about their lives.
That journey began with bariatric surgery. Over a 20-year surgical career, Dr. Oliak performed more than 3,500 operations — including as one of Orange County’s first surgeons to offer laparoscopic weight loss surgery — helping patients achieve outcomes that rippled across every dimension of their lives: physical, medical, and emotional. The benefit came not from the surgery itself, but from what the body achieved once the conditions for change were in place.
That insight shaped everything that followed. In 2023, Dr. Oliak founded MD Total Wellness on a simple but powerful conviction: that the body has a remarkable capacity to heal, rejuvenate, and restore — and that when given the right signals and raw materials, it does this better than anything we can artificially impose. Hormone therapy restores what aging takes away. Peptide therapy stimulates the body’s own pathways to achieve meaningful outcomes. The body, properly supported, does things better than we can artificially replicate.
Aesthetics became the natural next chapter. The same technology-driven, root-cause philosophy applies — advanced energy-based technologies and regenerative skincare stimulate the body’s natural processes to address the underlying causes of aging at every layer — from the structural foundation to collagen and skin surface. At Trinity, that means starting with the foundation — rebuilding muscle and connective tissue — before addressing collagen, and refining the surface last. Achieving results that are compelling precisely because they are natural. Everyone wants to look and feel their best — Dr. Oliak believes the body can get us there on its own terms.
At Trinity, Dr. Oliak brings a rare combination of surgical precision, deep scientific grounding, and a genuine passion for patient transformation — helping people not just look better, but feel better about who they are.
In Dr. Krishnan’s own words:
My work has always been shaped by a simple but profound conviction: that the face is not a surface to be perfected — it is a living system to be understood, respected, and supported.
Over more than 20 years of full mouth rehabilitation and restorative dentistry, I have come to see every smile as something far more than an aesthetic outcome. A smile is connected to the face, the muscles, the way a person moves, communicates, and expresses who they are. That understanding — of the head, neck, and facial system as a whole — is the foundation of everything I do, both in dentistry and at Trinity.
My clinical training at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry gave me a rigorous foundation in precision, proportion, and restorative excellence. But what has defined my work over the years goes beyond technical standards. It is a commitment to pushing past them — through innovation grounded in science, not trends. Every decision I make — shape, proportion, occlusion, material, treatment — is guided by one question: will this harmonize with the body’s natural expressions, preserve its integrity, and support its long-term health?
I have a deep resistance to the idea that aesthetics should depend on masking or on creating dependency. There is a meaningful difference between treatments that simply change how someone looks and treatments that restore and enhance the body’s own capacity to function and heal. That distinction matters to me. It is why I am drawn to biocompatible, structurally sound approaches — treatments that work with the body’s biochemical and physiologic processes, not against them. Because if someone is investing in looking better, it should also mean becoming healthier.
I feel strongly about muscle. Not as an obstacle to smooth away, but as something essential — to movement, to expression, to identity. We speak with our muscles. We smile, connect, and live fully through them. Treatments that diminish natural movement work against the very systems that make us human. Preserving muscle function is not just an aesthetic choice — it is a commitment to longevity and vitality.
Trends in beauty come and go, driven by marketing cycles that shift and disappear. But timeless beauty operates differently. It is rooted in confidence, authenticity, and the ability to fully express yourself. That is what I am committed to — for every patient, in every treatment decision.
This philosophy is what brought me to co-found Trinity with Dr. Oliak. In aesthetics, as in dentistry, the goal has never been to override nature. It has always been to support it — using the best available science and technology to help the body do what it already knows how to do, only better. Because an exceptional result isn’t just seen. It’s felt — by you, and by everyone around you.
I would love to be part of your journey.
— Gail Ann Krishnan, DDS, MS
